Essential Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Option A:
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Application or Computer Science, OR  
  • Master of Technology (specializing in Computer Application), OR  
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Technology from a recognized University or Institute.  
OR
Option B:
  • (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application, Computer Science, Electronics, or Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University; AND  
  • (ii) Two years of experience in electronic data processing work, including programming, from a recognized institute or offices of:  
  • Central Government  
  • State Government  
  • Union Territories  
  • Autonomous or Statutory Organizations  
  • Public Sector Undertakings  
  • Universities  
  • Recognized Research Institutes  
OR
Option C: 
- (i) "A-Level" Diploma under the Department of Electronics Accredited Computer Courses (DOEACC) program, OR a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Application offered under a university program; AND

Job Nature:
The position is permanent under the General Central Service Group “B” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial category.  

Headquarters:
The primary location is New Delhi.  
However, since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) operates across India, candidates must be prepared to serve anywhere in the country.  

Eligibility Instructions for the post of Assistant Programmer 

Citizenship Requirements:  
A candidate must fulfill one of the following criteria:  
  1. Citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. Tibetan Refugee: Entered India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.  
  4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO): Migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or specific East African nations, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, intending to settle in India.  
Note: Candidates in categories 2-4 must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
