Merit List Tie-Breaker:
  • In the event of a tie in final merit scores (candidates scoring the same cutoff marks), the candidate's age will determine their ranking, with preference given to older candidates.

Regulatory bodies. OR MCA
OR 

M.E./ MTech / MSc in Computer Science/Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology / Information Security /Cybersecurity /Electronics / Electronics & Communications / Software Engineering or equivalent degree in above disciplines from a university / Institution / Board recognized by Govt. of India / approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies. 

Preferred Certifications:
Professional certifications: CCSP / CCNP / CCIE/ JNCIP / JNCIE/ PCNSE/ NSE7/ NSE8/ MCSE/ RHCS /CISM / PMP are preferred.

Total experience (20+ years) in Information security/ Information technology, out of which proven experience of 10-13 years in Infrastructure Security including Network, Cloud, System security and in implementing security projects. 
  1. Essential experience detail:
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Data security solutions like DLP, IRM, Data flow analysis would be preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
  • Experience in managing IT/security projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of banking and financial industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., PCIDSS, RBI frameworks)
  •  Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop security professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex security concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Specific skills:
  • Special Projects Management-Lead and manage projects related to Information Security or Information Technology including planning, execution and including planning, execution and delivery. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Leadership and Management - Lead and manage team, providing guidance and development opportunities. Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

Experience:
Experience (15+ years) in Information security Out of which proven experience of 8-10 years in Incident response or related field.
  • Experience in handling complex security incident response situations
  • Experience in Managing and leading incident response teams—handling complex security incidents, including malware outbreaks, phishing attacks and advanced persistent threats.
  • Experience in Threat hunting and proactive monitoring. – Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures. Collaborating with crossfunctional teams.
  •  Analyzing and reporting trends and metrics
  • Experience with regulatory requirements viz- RBI guidelines, PCI-DSS etc
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex security concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Specific skills:
Strong knowledge of security technologies like Microsoft security technologies /IPS/Firewall, SIEM etc. 

Selection Process:
The recruitment process for Specialist Cadre Officers at the State Bank of India will include Shortlisting, Interview, and CTC Negotiations, as detailed below:
1. Shortlisting
  • Meeting the minimum qualification and experience criteria does not automatically guarantee an interview call.
  • A shortlisting committee will define the parameters for selecting candidates. The Bank will shortlist an adequate number of candidates for the interview based on these criteria.
  • The Bank's decision regarding the shortlisting process is final and binding. No correspondence regarding the same will be entertained.
2. Interview
  • The interview will carry a total of 100 marks.
  • The qualifying marks for the interview will be determined by the Bank.
  • No correspondence will be entertained regarding the interview marks or results.
3. Merit List
  • The final merit list will be prepared category-wise in descending order based on the scores obtained in the interview.
  • In the event of a tie at the cut-off score, candidates will be ranked by age, with preference given to older candidates.
4. CTC Negotiation
  • CTC negotiations will be conducted sequentially based on the merit list.
  • If a selected candidate disagrees with the proposed compensation, their candidature will be considered as a voluntary withdrawal, and the next candidate in the merit list will be approached for negotiations.
